Storm question for an armchair ship captain

I need an seasoned cruise person to look at the trajectory and timeline of tropical storm Katia. The allure is supposed to be on eastern itinerary for this Sundays 7 day cruise (nassau, st thomas, st maarten).

 

What are the chances they will change this to a western cruise to keep a safe distance from a potential storm?

Early projections has the storm tracking north towards Bermuda, subject to change of course. If that's the case you should be fine provided it makes the turn to the north in time. It's a crap shoot plain and simple.

For Katia I would be a lot more concerend if I was on a Bermuda itinerary this Saturday. Upper air pattern should steer that one north and then keep it well off the coast but Bermuda.

Just got this map from the above website- looks like even though its not projected to hit the islands, it will right there affecting the seas...

It has just become hurricane Katia,but you should be alright.We might bump into it on our cruise up by newfoundland or Iceland.

I think the timing of H-Katia is such they could very easily go West if needed...since the likely storm in the GOM will hopefully come get caught up here bringing loads of soaking rain.
