Well, she wasn't an SS, but rather an MS, as she is a motorship, not steam.

 

Anyhow, this old girl is still alive and kicking. She's now called DISCOVERY SUN and runs on day cruises out of Ft. Lauderdale.

 

Another time when I am not completely spent (see post 12 on this thread) I will perhaps recount some more information on this ship. In the meantime, take a look at this article from the defunct web site Ferry Voyager (the article has been saved thanks to The Internet Archive) by a friend of mine, Scandinavian shipping historian and author Bruce Peter which I am sure you will enjoy. It also includes an account of the ship by the late ship enthusiast and author Denny Bond Beattie, and photos of the ship then and now.
