hapster222 Posted September 2, 2011 #1 Share Posted September 2, 2011 Ia Orana Have been on board the PG for about a week now of our 14-day cruise. Yes: Everything you've heard or read about it is true. Can't think of anything really to complain about -- well, due to the weather and the swells, our stop in Ua Huka has been cancelled and we're going directly to Nuku Hiva early instead. Had about 36 hours of 10-foot swells sailing to the Marquesas the other day, so if you're sensitive to that kinda thing, plan accordingly. The captain said that was a fluke but anything can happen at any time. The food has been nothing short of spectacular -- I'd say better than all the mass-market cruising we've experienced. The crew is terrific. If you get friendly with the guys, they will call you by your first name whenever you see them -- Efren, Elmo, and Glenn to be specific, but a lot of you people out there already knew that. We've really gotten into LAZY mode for sure, so I'm going to end this already because ... wait... I think I hear it... Yes, I hear it. The breakfast bell has rung. Gotta go. Cheers... VikkiGarcia Posted September 2, 2011 #2 Share Posted September 2, 2011 Hap: We are thinking of sailing next summer. Are there any teens on board?
hapster222 Posted September 2, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted September 2, 2011 Nope, I see TWO teenagers, a brother and a sister (French speaking), a handful of kids ranging from pre-toddler, toddler age, and maybe up to 8 or 9 years old, and the balance of the passengers being very well-traveled, secure, 50-, 60-, and 70-somethings. Your cruise could vary, but I doubt it. Quite refreshing, actually. A very fun group of people to travel with, for sure. Cheers... Hap
Emdee Posted September 2, 2011 #4 Share Posted September 2, 2011 Hap, Envy you.... I am flying to NYC tomorrow for a quick weekend but honestly I would rather be navigating the Marquesa waters regardless of the swell. My best to Efren and Elmo and all the wonderful staff on board. Dont forget to try Efren's Cosmos. Miriam
