Great idea …we will be on for 27 nights so many truffles to take home for my husband who is a chocolate fan! Asked them to hold them last year.

I agree that the crew on the Splendor are amazing….hard working, warm and friendly and doing their very best. There are a few newbies on board and even the seasoned crew feel frustrated with them. Hopefully these newbies are on a learning curve and will soon fit into the regent ethos.

My daughter visited their Padua restaurant and felt it was one of the best she has been to. We were to visit the restaurant as well but had a tire blowout 10 minutes away. When we called to cancel the owner was extremely concerned drove to our car and picked up my daughter to take her to his restaurant. Then he returned back in an hour or so and brought us sandwiches and water and negotiated with the Avis tow truck in Italian. He finally put my daughter in a taxi to meet us at the Avis premises. Does anyone have an idea when the new menu will take effect. Looking at booking something in April next year.

Can someone refresh my memory on US TV channels available on board. are CNN and MSNBC available for example. Thanks.

It was heavily discounted a couple of times ….unfortunately we couldn’t make it work for us so just stayed with our original booking the London to Oslo cruise which is the next one.

On Crystal another passenger had the same problem and when he complained to reception he was visited by the head butler who apologized profusely and presented him with a reserve champagne. If you are looking for service Crystal is amazing with 85 to 90 percent returning staff. I recuperated on board a Crystal ship post surgery and I can verify that the staff did everything to make my trip truly relaxing. For me it is Regent for their itineraries and Crystal for relaxation. When you compare the cost of high end resorts cruising on Regent is almost a bargain.

Splendor London to London. 08/12/2024.
Emdee replied to Dolebludger's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
Hope they will be seasoned by next cruise when we will be onboard,Richard. In any event hopefully it is better than the Silversea waitresses who served me the salad with her fingers touching the leaves! Hope things improve fast. -
Have a great trip….has to be great as you are on Crystal!

If you want a triple you need to book the Sapphire category. We just booked my DD her own solo cabin…..not guarantee.

On my last Crystal cruise I needed to rest one morning. We called the room stewardess and told her that she needn’t wait for me and I would call her when I was ready for her to clean the room. I told her if necessary she needn’t clean the room until the evening. The Crystal butler and room steward are only a phone call away so it is so easy to be considerate and tell them your preferences. I have found them very solicitous of your needs.

Welcome Aboard Offer for new to Crystal with bonus offer of free laundry

Years ago Regent had one of their frequent guests parties in a laundry room. -
Welcome Aboard Offer for new to Crystal with bonus offer of free laundry
Emdee replied to Stickman1990's topic in Crystal
I am nervous to book the suite with it’s own washer and dryer as DH may feel like doing the wash at 3 am. He does like the Crystal laundry rooms as he can do the wash at 5 am. Some cruise lines lock their laundry rooms until 7 am. Fortunately Regent has included laundry and we now get included laundry on Silversea with their match rccl match. -
Crystal cruiser considering Regent Grandeur cruise
Emdee replied to LNugent's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
One comment on the Beef….it has really gone downhill on Regent. The included laundry is awfully convenient. I would definitely put the food on NC above Regent though the latter has more variety. We love both Pacific Rim and Umi Uma. The butlers on NC are a delight. We cruise in the F so no butler on Regent. -
Crystal cruiser considering Regent Grandeur cruise

We also cruise Regent for itinerary and Crystal for relaxation. We started cruising Regent in our 50s about 20 years ago, and always found people of all ages. Haven’t been on the Grandeur ….booked next year in April but will be on the Splendor and b2b mariner this year. The newer ships have more dining venues which are nice. The Spa on Explorer was excellent and my daughter enjoys the evening venues and bars. Excursions are hit and miss. -
Impressions from Crystal Symphony from Istanbul to Monaco:
Emdee replied to travelberlin's topic in Crystal
Thank you so much for your enjoyable posts. We haven’t been on Symphony for some years so it was nice to hear from you. We were diffident to return to Symphony after Albert’s passing. For us he was synonymous with the ship. Maybe will try it next year. -
If you like a particular table just ask for it. On Serenity we liked one and it became ours….when we returned to the ship after a couple of months it again became ours.

I agree. I felt the mains and apps were so good and was let down by some of the desserts. A rhubarb pie tart is perfect for lunch but not for dinner. -
Enjoy your cruise. Wish I could be on the ship too. Second knee is however slow to heal.
-
Precisely what we are doing…booking Regent for itinerary and Crystal for relaxation. We will likely morph into the generation that cruises for relaxation only so Crystal is perfect for us. I sincerely hope we get a chance to cruise the new ships.

The high end wines are very overpriced compared to the competition. In fact that is almost the only thing my daughter likes on Silversea the prices of wines are very reasonable. I am an Evian drinker and Crystal kept my Evian in every restaurant for me albeit snuck away!

They gave both to my husband on Serenity last year and when he finished what they had they went out and purchased a few different varieties for him. Many of these non alcoholic wines are very sweet so he would enjoy them as a spritzer with a twist of lemon.
-
They did a Vermouth tasting for me…they had five different ones. The bartenders at the Cove on Serenity are amazing.
-
They also whip up the loveliest non alcoholic mocktails. And have non alcoholic wine, beer and sparkling wine.
-
We got our status match but holding off booking until we see how things progress with Silversea. Also fully booked with the competition for now.
