Iggipolka Posted March 31, 2005 #101 Share Posted March 31, 2005 Thanks for the update Heather. That was a great idea to talk to another Group Cruise Leader!
TYMAN Posted March 31, 2005 #102 Share Posted March 31, 2005 Time to move this one back up! It's horrific that it almost fell to the 2nd page!!
HeatherInFlorida Posted March 31, 2005 Author #103 Share Posted March 31, 2005 Thanks for doing that, Tyman! I was just on my way here because I couldn't believe everyone disappeared! Let me think ... it's Thursday. Is that a special day? Where did everyone go?:D

HeatherInFlorida Posted March 31, 2005 Author #105 Share Posted March 31, 2005 Yes, maybe that's it. Everyone is off celebrating my Blue Ribbon:D . But it's kind of strange, isn't it? People were posting like crazy! And now complete silence since Iggi's post late last night! It's almost eery!!! I feel like I'm in a big empty hall calling out "HellOOOOOOoooooo..." and only an echo in return. Maybe we're alone ... we're verrrrry alone, Tyman... lisabrooke1130 Posted March 31, 2005 #106 Share Posted March 31, 2005 I'm here and reading your posts. But, until we get some quotes to "dish" about or it becomes April 29th and we get to toast again, I don't have a lot to say. BTW, congrats on your blue ribbon. And, which group leader with a April 2006 cruise did you speak to (NCL Star or Jewel of the Seas)? Misty is leading the first one and I am cruising with her group in August. I can't wait to meet her after all our corresponding. Also, I was wondering what the ages of everyone are (can I ask that without offending anyone?) It seems like from all the discussion of giving up booze years ago (and I think someone said they did so in their 30s) that DH and I might be on the younger end of the group (not that there's anything wrong with that--we actually cruise with HAL because we like the older crowd). I am 39 next week (although I will be 40 by the time we cruise!) and DH is 46. Ok, on second thought, maybe I do have something to say. :-) Lisa
TYMAN Posted March 31, 2005 #107 Share Posted March 31, 2005 Heather...I was starting to get scared....even "horrified"!!! :D PS. I'm 45...DW 40.....shhh
HeatherInFlorida Posted March 31, 2005 Author #108 Share Posted March 31, 2005 Actually, Lisa, I think the ages are all over the map but you'd be on the younger end of the spectrum. I know there quite a few in their early to late 40's and it goes on up to 60's (maybe higher ... I don't know). You're right about me ... I'm 63. Believe it or not my best friend is 48 and I have several other friends in that age range. Both DH and I try to live young and we keep young hearts. We've found on our cruises we generally hook up with people younger than we are. On the other hand we've had a ball with a couple where the guy was 85!! He sure outpaced us! But I don't think age really matters on a cruise. Even when I cruised in my early 40's I met people on up to 70 and got along great with them. On our honeymoon I was 43 and we met the most fantastic couple in their 70's! I've never laughed so hard. I emailed with Dana who's leading the Jewel of the Seas cruise. What a bundle of energy she is!!! But very helpful and very nice.
ekerr19 Posted March 31, 2005 #109 Share Posted March 31, 2005 Well, I am back! And count us in for the Halloween cruise! Looking forward to it... Heather, I haven't yet read the whole thread, but how do go about selecting our cabins? After the cruise we returned from yesterday, I am certain which category we will be choosing! :D

Heather, I haven't yet read the whole thread, but how do go about selecting our cabins? After the cruise we returned from yesterday, I am certain which category we will be choosing! :D Welcome home, Laura ... so sad we didn't get to meet yesterday, but there will be another chance hopefully before our cruise. To catch up you really also need to go back and read the other thread.... the "final poll" thread. I know you don't want to miss a thing:D !! LOL! Selecting cabins! We don't even have prices yet! I've been emailing LauraS almost daily with no luck yet. But a Group Leader for another cruise (see above) told me it takes forever and to be patient. She said once we get the TA and the prices it's full speed ahead. So we sit and wait. We're going for an "SS" on this one. It will be our first and most likely last, but we felt with all these great CC folks going, it would be nice to have a larger cabin in case anyone drops by for a visit;) . stanford's girl Posted March 31, 2005 #113 Share Posted March 31, 2005 Laura, Hope you're feeling better. I got sick the 5th day into my 9 day Mexico trip. Went to the Dr. yesterday and with meds, I should be feeling better by the weekend. mechcc Posted March 31, 2005 #118 Share Posted March 31, 2005 Lisa - Since my crazy DH didn't answer the question of age - he is 60 almost 61 and I am 53 and will be having my 55th birthday on the Hal-o-ween Dam Cruise. From seeing all the posts looks like our group will have birthdays and anniversarys all week long. Just calls for more celebrating!

ekerr19 Posted March 31, 2005 #120 Share Posted March 31, 2005 Wow - looks like a great group so far! Thanks to everyone for your well wishes for my recovery... I am still hopeful to shake this thing once and for all! For me, the worst was not being able to meet with Heather. :( I was so exhausted yesterday, frankly I thought I'd be terrible company and I didn't want expose her to whatever it is I have. My DH is 43 and I turn 45 tomorrow! No jokes, I've probably heard them all before! LOL! We both like to stay up late, dance, have cocktails, do a bit of gambling etc. - so it looks like this group has a good mix of interests, ages and backgrounds...
