buckeye101 Posted March 29, 2005 #1 Share Posted March 29, 2005 My wife and i would like to check out new orleans for a couple hours. We do not want to drag our carry on luggage around. How difficult is it to check in dump luggage and go back ashore on sail date? We dont want to go through all the red tape .We will have our seapass card so i dont see the difficulty. springtxbill Posted March 29, 2005 #2 Share Posted March 29, 2005 Drop the bags as soon as they will let you get to your room and then go to town. :)
serene56 Posted March 29, 2005 #3 Share Posted March 29, 2005 Sometimes cabins are not secured until 1pm- so dropping off your luggage to your cabin is doable--just not safe. Your other luggage... drop off with the porter and dont check in with the ship and do your touring-- when finished head back to the ship to check in. It will take you an hour to get through the checking in process. then leaving the ship you will have to go through security again. That is why I suggest dropping the luggage then tour then check in at the ship.
MrsPete Posted March 29, 2005 #4 Share Posted March 29, 2005 I think you'd feel rushed. I vote for arriving a day early so you can have plenty of time the evening before the cruise. Who can argue with starting your vacation a day early?
trish1c Posted March 29, 2005 #5 Share Posted March 29, 2005 Getting off & back on again is not a problem. You may get some "dirty looks" from people on various lines as you breeze past them. Enjoy.
serene56 Posted March 29, 2005 #6 Share Posted March 29, 2005 The only line that youwill bypass is the check in line and the line to take your pciture. Other then that== security lines will still be long.
