Wine

So I read you can bring 1 bottle of wine on board for each passenger . For those who do ,

do you drink it in your stateroom only are you allowed to walk to public rooms with it? I know you can't bring the bottle to dinner unless you pay the corkage fee but what about just sitting in a quiet section of the ship or decks?

I carry a bottle of wine to dinner and was never charged corkage fee. Other then to dinner, I've never carried it to other places in the ship.

Carnival does state there is a corkage fee, so I guess it could go either way. We take a corkscrew with us & open the bottle in the room, then carry our glasses & bottle with us. Normally we walk around the ship with a glass before dinner & finish the bottle off at the table.

Keep my champagne in cooler iced down. I bring a heavy duty plastic champagne flute with me that way I can take it anywhere including the Lido deck. I find these flutes at supermarkets and have two at home that I take to pool parties. They also have heavy plastic wine glasses. I'll sometimes pour a glass to take with me to dinner but often I drink tea or water at dinner and drink champagne after dinner at the shows, casino or disco.

If you stop by any of the bars the bartender will be happy to give you wine glasses to take back to your room.

No one would be able to tell the difference between a glass you poured yourself and one you bought at the bar.

If you ask your room steward he will keep your white wine or champagne iced. Ours on the Valor got us a beer bucket to keep it in and refilled the ice twice a day.
