Did you have a 'green binder' at all? Some have been reporting that they had no binder at all in the cabin - and hence no room service menu - had to ask for the 'sheet'?

Wonder if they are redoing the menus or the binders?

Not to hijack the thread here, but we were on the Inspiration on the 5th-10th and I asked our steward on embarkation day about our binder. He told me they removed all the binders and pointed out the room service menu to me on the desk. It had printing on the otherside of it and the menu was faceside down, I probably would have never found it honestly.

While we are on the subject of the menu I was disappointed they only let me order one side with room service. In the past I was able to order slaw & chips and they wouldn't let me do so this time, in fact room service was quite adamant about it. I don't know if this is new policy or if someone was new and didn't know what they were doing or what.

Thanks for the encouragement and glad you are enjoying so far! :D

Photobucket was acting up last night but seems to be ok now.

Here's the one-pager Room Service Menu. Look for it in your "pile o' papers" left in your cabin on embarkation day. If I hadnt looked at all of the papers I would have missed it, as hfweather mentioned below. It just said "good to know" on one side.

Froufie-NO binder in the room at all! I searched high and low.

And my "not so Platinum", Platinum stationery. If I had a choice I'd just opt out of it.

Keep it coming! Great review! Do you know what category your cabin was?

It was an 8A category but apparently it would have been an additional upgrade of $40/pp/pday, but was a free upgrade during a past guest special.

I'm loving the review and the BIG pics. I am dying to do this cruise and get to HMC. Please post lots of pics of HMC and the cabanas. I am trying to talk my husband into a Spring cruise and maybe the pics will help pursuade him. :)

If the pics I took dont convince him, nothing will. HMC pics + Island Food Menu to be posted today. :)

What an amazing shot! I cant believe you caught the cork in mid air! Reminds me of a pic I took of my DBF when we were shooting skeet at a friends house. I caught the shotgun shell in midair when he cocked it. (I think that's what you call it..LOL) Great review!

Thanks!! It was take with a little Sony Cybershot..nothing fancy but the timing was just right!!!

Food-

The Main Dining Room-I'll start by saying that the new menu is in effect. We had Anytime Dining and with the exception of night 2, Elegant Night we had little to no wait. Elegant Night was over an hour for 8 of us. Normally we split up for dinner since we all liked to eat at different times. Anytime Dining was held on the upper level of the Galaxy Dining Room, located Fwd. Our service was good and we always seemed to end up there during Showtime.

Instead of taking pics of all of the menus, I figured I would come back here, pull down the .pdf's and match them up to each night. In review of the .pdf's posted on Healds Blog, the food is the same but arranged on different nights. So I will do my best to point out each nights menu highlights, etc.

The food was good and I liked everything I ate. I didnt go crazy wild with ordering lots of plates so I mainly stuck with an app, a salad or soup, an entree and dessert. This way I was "comfortably" full and not ready to burst like a tick.

Night 1-Had the Pork Steak (fka as Center Cut Chop) w/mac n cheese, peas. The Didja item that night was Escargot which I've had before and it was still very good!

For Anytime Dining, they do give you the full bread basket :D

Hi! I just went through the pics and cracked up at the ones of you and the pepperoni roll...

Appropriately that is what I'm eating for lunch right now. :p

I really like them! I had them each with a beer and they were perfect!

Night 2 Main Dining Room-

This was Elegant Night and of course had to have to Lobster!

The Didja item was the Alligator Fritters...big thumbs down! I mentioned earlier that I had Gator Nuggets in Fort Lauderdale (100% gator meat), which were tender and delicious. The Carnival Gator Fritter was understandbly more like a hush puppy with gator meat studded throughout but wow, the gator meat was very very chewy...like tough clam meat. I didnt get a picture :( but you get 2 about the size of golf balls and they were pretty greasy. My advice...give them a try but dont consider it a "gator" eating experience....they dont compare to eating 100% gator meat. Dessert was Bitter n Blanc (yum!).

Night 3-MDR:

I had the Fried Shrimp App, Cesar Salad and Fettucini with mushroom and chicken cream sauce. The Didja item tonight was Cured Salmon.

My DD who is vegetarian loved the HUGE Chili Relleno. Erman had the Jerked Pork Loin which was also tasty! I will say..he ate a Jerked pork or chicken dish 3 times during the cruise..on the ship and in port.

Main Dining Room Nights 4 and 5-

Night 4- I had dinner with some folks from the CC Roll Call, so that was nice! I had Corn Chowder and Lobster Bisque...both good. Also had the Bacon Mac n Cheese which I really enjoyed! I like the Mac N Cheese to begin with but just wished the bacon was cut up and mixed in. Not a big deal...I cut up the bacon slice and added it in with the chicken breast. The Didja item was Frog Legs. I didnt order them but Sherrie did and I had some of hers. It tasted like Chicken Wing in the same butter/garlic sauce as the escargot. They were good, tender.

Night 5-Final night :( I had the Penne Mariscos, Crab Cake and WCMC. The Didja Item was the Study in Sushi, which Ive had before but I didnt see the Shark Roll that was talked about before.

Other Food on the Ship- We heard about the long buffet lines and honestly, I didnt wait more than 5 minutes for a burger at the grill and 10 minutes for Pizza because I ordered the DeChevre and they had to bake it. I am not much of a buffet person anyway.

Had the Chinese at Happy Valley...great pork spring rolls! Also the Pastrami and Swiss on Rye from the Deli. Both located on the sides, walkway from the Buffet Area to the Lido Deck.

Room Service in the morning was always on time by hanging the door tag the night before. I got my danish every day, which I love!

We did hit the buffet for late-afternoon desserts and had something called Chocolate Decadence...it was a mousse w/whipped cream....rich and delicious. They also had the Cherry Napoleon..MMM! :o

Erman and Dave being dorks with their desserts . Erman has choc mousse on his teeth..nice! lol!
