TEXAS HOLD’EM IS HERE!

Princess Cruises recently opened the first Low Limit Poker Lounge on the Grand Princess. The poker lounge features poker tables offering Low Limit Hold'Em. Complimentary lessons are available for new players and a fun poker tournament is held at least once a cruise. The Grand Princess currently sails on a seven day Western Caribbean itinerary out of Galveston, Texas.

The Grand Princess is the first cruise ship to introduce a new line of Ocean Players Club Poker Lounges. Other lounges will be introduced on selected vessels during 2005.

Check this page for updates on future poker lounges.

I saw people on the Grand playing. I wonder if poker is going to the overkill mode. I play one night every one or two weeks at home. I didn't want to waste any of my precious cruise time doing something I can easily do at home.

In spite of the popularity of Hold 'Em on TV, I think many on Grand Princess were intimidated by the thought of live play. At most, there were two active tables, and little or no waiting list for an open seat. The tournaments were a lot of fun, had plenty of action, and were far more entertaining than the BJ or slot tournaments. One nice thing, at least on our cruise, was that by general consensus nobody smoked at the poker table.

But that's the beauty of a cruise, if you don't want to play, don't play! It had to happen sooner or later. It seems everytime you turn around some TV station has a Hold 'Em tourny on.

Boy Chuck do you have tht right. Frankly I get sick and tired of every other station having "Hold Em tourney" Last night I specifically counted 4 turnaments on different channels. I really don't mind watching them but on every channel???

WOOOOO HOOOOOO

Hopefully Hold'Em will find its way aboard the Golden by the time we sail October 29th. When we sailed on the Golden last October the casino was dead and all anyone wanted to know was when they were going to have poker.

Hey Alex......I have some very good friends that live in West Bloomfield, on Walnut Lake Rd. & Inkster, I graduated high school in Detroit.

Yep, a lot of people have asked about poker. On our last cruise they had a sign up sheet in the card room. As for me, I would rather play 5 or 7 card stud but that's because I don't have a heck of a lot of experience with hold 'em. Marilyn, wait until we have the 24 hour oker channel, 23 hours of cards and an hour long Popile Pocket Fisherman Infomercial.
