OHCruiser Posted April 20, 2005 #5 Share Posted April 20, 2005 We were on the Pride to Mexico Easter week and I played in a low limit tournament--came in 17th out of 30 as a first timer. They actually held two tournaments on the cruise. They held the tournaments in the Renaissance Lounge next to the casino and they also had "pick-up" games there nearly every day. The staff was great. Very low key, no pressure, and helpful to first-timers like myself. We had to sign up in advance for a total of 30 players, 3 tables of 10--2 days ahead, I think--and we played in the afternoon on a day at sea. The entry fee was $60 and we got $450 (?) in chips to start. The top 3 monied--I believe it was 100% payout--at about $1000, $500, $300, as I recall. Great fun for all and I can't wait to play again when I go on the Triumph in Aug. Cheers!

Saxondog Posted April 26, 2005 #9 Share Posted April 26, 2005 We're sailing on Liberty in August. It's a brand new ship. Do you think it will have a card room. That would be cool, I great excuse to stay off deck with all the kiddies. Rich

Carnival would be loosing money, they could just put slot machines in that space.
