Hi, I just booked Intercontinental San Juan Hotel and Casino. I am trying to figure out what restaurants, etc are in close walking distance. I am trying to plan ahead and save some money on cabs. I thought someone said there was a Chili's close by, but it is hard to determine since chili's main website sends you to an affiliate site for the PR restaurants and has little or no info available. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks. Jessica

There is a Chili's if you exit the Intercontinental and go to the Left. There are a lot of restaurants in the area. Really depends on what you are looking for. If you continue walking past Chili's there are a number of restaurants on the left side of the road. We ate at Metropol which is on the Right near the cock fighting ring. We walked there at night and felt 100% safe. Food was excellent and mojitos were even better.

If food you can get at home is more your style, there is a Ruth Chris in the hotel and plenty of fast food with in walking distance (Burger King, Church's Chicken).

For breakfast, if you exit the Intercontinental and go to the Right, cross the street and there is a bakery in a plaza. Wonderful cafe con leche and pastries. They also have egg and cheese sandwiches. There is also a grocery store within walking distance for water and soda.

Hope this helps. We stayed at the Intercontinental 2 years ago and are looking forward to being there again in 2012.
