BIG_Steve Posted September 27, 2011 #2 Share Posted September 27, 2011 does anyone know if the chilkoot rail bus tour stops at the goldrush cemetery We took the Yukon tour, and it did not. But they have another, different bus/rail tour also. Don't know about that.
ganny3 Posted September 28, 2011 #3 Share Posted September 28, 2011 I recommend you email Chilkoot to be sure. We also did the Yukon but in researching I don't remember any of their tours saying they stopped at the cemetery. I found them to be very responsive to any questions when I was booking the tour. We took the Skagway Street Car Tour as well as the van/train with Chilkoot and the streetcar did stop at the cemetery. Barbara
Ready4cruisin Posted September 28, 2011 #4 Share Posted September 28, 2011 We just got back from our cruise and used Chilkoot in Skagway. We did the rail up and bus back down. We asked the driver to drop us off at the goldrush cemetary which he gladly did. We walked from the cemetary back to the town which was about a 20-25 minute walk, easy walk, all sidewalks and no big hills. The tour was excellent BTW!! Budget Queen Posted October 2, 2011 #6 Share Posted October 2, 2011 thanks i thought about having them drop us off there also In the past, I have not seen the Gold Rush mentioned as a "stop". IF you have the time, then getting a drop off, near the train yard, would offer you the option to walk there. It also is a very nice walk back through Skagway, again, it's a 1 1/2 mile so no mobility limitations. I like walking back down Alaska, which goes by the school and airport. :)
