Conrad vs. Hilton

We will be in Singapore for 3 days before our cruise and would like to use our Hilton points to stay at either the Conrad or Hilton in Singapore. We have read lots of reviews on both, some people really seem to like the location of the Hilton better (on Orchard Street) but the Conrad seems to have nicer rooms.

Has anyone stayed at either one, and could you please advise if one would be better than the other as far as location, service, rooms, etc.? Thanks.

If you're into shopping consider the Orchard Rd Hilton. If you are more interested in the museums, the river, and the sights of central Singapore then go for the Conrad. We stayed at the Conrad and it was nothing short of superb. The lobby area is beautifully furnished ,the staff delightful, and the rooms supremely comfortable. If you can, book a club room , with afternoon tea and evening cocktails and snacks in the top floor executive lounge.

One of the best hotels we've stayed in, and we shall definitely be back in 2013 when we end our cruise in Singapore.

I can't speak about the Hilton, but I agree with chita about the Conrad. After staying there this past April, DH won't even consider another hotel for a return to Singapore. A friend who cruised with us that trip now makes Conrad hotels her first choice when traveling. She was blown away by the service starting with the front desk clerk who escorted her to her room. The clerk even wanted to carry our friend's purse so she wouldn't have to carry a thing.

Definitely I would chose the Conrad. I lived in Singapore and return often. Have stayed in the Conrad a few times, it's very comfortable indeed. The Hilton is a bit of a dump for a Hilton, and anyway everywhere in Singapore is not far away and taxis and underground cheap and efficient.
