Calif. Cruisers Posted October 2, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 2, 2011 We are just back from the Coral Princess and enjoyed the premiere of their new show 'On the Bayou.' The music, sets, costumes and performers were all excellent. The stage is set up to rotate and is used masterfully in the production. After the show they encouraged everyone to move to the Bayou Bar/Restaurant where the festivities continued with music, bead necklaces and a celebration of the premiere. We haven't enjoyed a show as much as this one in quite a while. Don't miss it when you are on-board.

Although we won't be on the Coral again until October of next year, it's always nice to see a review of a new show. Actually, it's always nice to see a new show. :D

We saw a full production show featuring Adrian Zmed on the Coral last year in Alaska that used the three stages and large screens to full advantage. You are correct, since I just heard they were finally unloading Zmed. (Hooray!)

cibaygirls Posted October 2, 2011 #6 Share Posted October 2, 2011 Does anyone know for sure if, and when the show will be playing on the Island? I am going in Janauray and would love to see it. Thanks
synet165 Posted October 4, 2011 #7 Share Posted October 4, 2011 Hi, We are sailing on the Coral next week and we are curious about your review of the new show Bayou. What theater is it in? You mentioned that after the show there was something going on in the Bayou restaurant, was it only that night and that show? Or is it, every show and every night there is a performance. We too are looking forward to a new show, every cruise we have been on, they have had the same shows. We know that Princess produces their own shows, perhaps they should take a lesson from other cruise lines. Thanks for your help. lovevacadays Posted October 8, 2011 #9 Share Posted October 8, 2011 Usually the shows play for YEARS. They sure do:eek: And that's why I haven't been to a production show on my last few cruises. One can only hope that there will be some new shows on other ships coming soon.

imacruizer Posted October 17, 2011 #12 Share Posted October 17, 2011 Does anyone know if this show is on the Island yet? We got off the Island on October 10. During our cruise, Adrian Zmed had his final show on that ship. We were told that they were preparing for the new show - On the Bayou - but not the date that it would start. Glad to hear that the reviews for the new show are good.

TM Posted December 24, 2011 #17 Share Posted December 24, 2011 We saw the show while on the Coral last September/October. It was one of the best productions shows we have ever seen. DH even stayed awake for the whole show, trust me that says something for keeping ones attention. Great show!!
HJH Posted December 24, 2011 #18 Share Posted December 24, 2011 We were on the Island Dec. 9-19 and saw On the Bayou with the new cast. Great show and the cast of singers and dancers was excellent. It does play in the smaller Universe Lounge because of the stage set up outlined in a earlier post. There were at least three performances over two consecutive nights.
