Wow Sale Question

Hello. Quick question, if anyone can help me. Got RC's e-mail regarding the WoW sale. Looking to book a cruise for January 2013. Can we book the WoW sale with a 2013 cruise or does it have to be just cruises in 2012?? Looking to get started on making our payments to our cruise early :) Just so anxious already.

I would not waste a NCC during a WOW sale....no point..save it. WOW cruise prices are usually inflated and they are not combinable with any other balcony discounts you might be eligible for....

Okay, it is officially October 4. I booked my next cruise and went to make my deposit but RCI's system wouldn't take the 50% deposit. Does the sale start at a particular time? I didn't see a specific time mentioned anywhere. I booked the "cabin of my dreams" and certainly don't want to lose it. I have it on a courtesy hold for now.

Just booked also. On line system insisted on full deposit. I will call during the day although I'm sure it will take forever to get through. Booked anyway to get the cabin I wanted. I'm sure I read that sale starts at midnight and deposit and OBC will be adjusted after.

I just went back and read the fine print AGAIN. It says the online booking confirmation will not reflect the reduced deposit or onboard credit. I could have sworn that when I booked last year during the WOW sale that I paid my deposit online.

 

Oh well...I guess I will have to wait 'til later today to deposit.

We tried booking on-line as well...but the website wanted the full deposit. So I called and was able to get the WOW 50% deposit amount. Glad they're staffed 24/7! :D

When you book online there is an option for "other ammount" when paying your deposit. You can take the current deposit and pay 50% of that, or you can call in the reservation. I like to call in, because then I have the name of someone and I know for sure it's all taken care of. Plus they work on sales so it helps out another person. :D

I had the same problem with the website requiring a $250/pp deposit when I tried to book shortly after midnight. After several attempts to use the "other amount" radio button, I put a hold and the room (again, all of this was after midnight, while the sale was active) and called. No problems with being on hold (maybe because it was in the middle of the night). Customer service said that it was a problem with the reservation website and that it wouldn't likely get fixed until today. I gave him the reservation number associated with the hold and he finished my booking at the discounted deposit. Very quick service (on the phone less than 5 minutes).

The website has never been able to handle the reduced deposit amount during the WOW sale. Either call Royal or your travel agent directly, or as another poster mentioned, put the cruise on hold and then call to have the reduced deposit applied.

From experience when booking during WOW sale online there is promotion code you have to enter or it will charge full deposit.

The WOW sale is clear as mud online, LOL. I ended up canceling over the phone, and booked the week after. Grabbed JS 1100 on the Jewel the Saturday after Thanksgiving. It was $500 cheaper anyway and got my $100 deposit. :D

I thought id check it out , and perhaps book a bahamas cruise for after my 7 nt cruise, but i can only access the UK site, and theres no wow sale over here! :eek: not fair

What is saved booking during a "WOW Sale"?

Reduced deposit isn't a saving you'll pay the rest.

OBC at the amounts offered most likely aren't even 4% of the cost of your entire cruise and isn't the same as giving you free gratuities or trip insurance.

 

Cruise Lines are as good as a Las Vegas casino in making you think your getting something.

We just booked our 2013 cruise through the WOW sale, but I did it through a TA. I've been watching this cruise for a long time, and the price never inflated like most people said it would, we got our reduced deposit, $100 OBC, and the cabin we wanted. Very happy :D

The WOW sale only applies to new bookings, and since you are already booked, the WOW sale cannot be applied to your booking. Just keep watching your price on Royal's website, and if you see a price drop before your final payment date, then you can call and get your price adjusted downward. You can do this multiple times.
