Oasis Back to back question

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

We are considering a back to back on the Oasis. Can someone who has done a back to back on the Oasis, tell me the procedure for the second leg of the trip as far as disembarking and reboarding. Does it require a trip through customs and immigration and then reboard?

The second question is, can we leave all our belongings in our room onboard the ship? Any info from someone who has done this would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Gary

We did a B2B on the Allure this year and since it is the same port, it should be about the same procedure. We had to go through immigration but not customs after the first leg of the cruise.

They will hold a meeting on week one on the next to last day explaining how things work. You will meet in a lounge the morning of debarkation (we met at 10:00 in Schooner). They will take all B2B off as a group to go through immigration and then you will be led to a seating area to stay until the ship has been cleared. At this time you will receive your new SeaPass card for week two. Once they have given the all clear to reboard, you are the first back on the ship. If you're not changing cabins, everything can stay in the cabin. It was very painless.

I did a b2b on Oasis last October and the information from the above poster about the Allure was the same for the Oasis.

As long as you are booked in the same stateroom you won't have to pack your things. They even pur a cute sticker on our seapass card that said 'Consecutive Cruiser'

At the meeting on the last night of the first leg, you are given an opportunity to set up reservations for excursions, specialty restaurants and all shows. You were also given the option of changing your dinner seating.

It was a wonderful experience and I truly enjoyed it! I can't wait to do it again.

We did a B2B on Oasis this year. I will tell you that the staff takes notice of your B2B sticker and treats you nicely because of it. For example we had trouble getting a reservation at Chops changed on the 2nd leg but when I mentioned we were B2B they were sudddenly able to accommodate us! Also one night we wanted to eat dinner with a couple on early dining (we were MTD) and were told it was not possible. I spoke to the head waiter who remembered us from the first cruise and he intervened and made it happen. I was pleasantly surprised in both cases. There were a few other "pleasant surprises" on the second cruise that may have been related to the magic sticker.

I wanted to scrape that sticker off my sea pass and save for my next cruise. Alas it was pretty beat up by the time it was over!

We did a B2B on Allure in May and it went exactly as Gordon said. After we got back on, we went up to Central Park to relax and wait for our freebie lunch at Giovanni's. I don't know if Oasis has something similar.

We also gathered in the Schooner Bar at 10 AM to wait for the crewmember to escort us off and get the new seapasses.

Felt so good watching everybody else shuffle off the ship while we knew we had another week to go. Until next week when it was our turn to leave the ship with our luggage.:(

Wow, if we'd known we'd have gotten this kind of royal treatment doing a B2B with RCCL, we might have done it sooner. We'll, probably not but it's a nice thought. LOL

Thanks to the incoming assurances on this thread, we went ahead and did it. As of 10 minutes ago, we booked our very first back to back (on the Oasis). We're so excited we can barely contain ourselves.

Thank you one and all for your speedy replies. You made us feel good about broadening the horizon.

RC NOW CALLS YOU A CONSECUTIVE CRUISER...Allthough it will always be a B2B for me! Nothing nicer than lounging around with a pastry and a coffee in the Schooner bar watching all the single week cruisers bidding farewell!:)
