Flight time question

Hi Everyone, we are taking our first Disney cruise out of port Canaveral in August. We can get a flight out of Orlando to go home at 12:00. Can we get from the port to Orlando by noon or is this too early of a flight? We can also get one out at 1:50pm. Would that be safer? Thanks!

I would go for the 1:50 flight personally, DCL recommends you book nothing before noon on your flight home and depending on your airline, you never know how security lines and baggage lines will be. So yes to be safer IMO I would go with the later one :D Have a great cruise!

We just returned from a 3 day cruise on the Dream. I was off the ship before 8am and in the car driving out of the port at 8:00. My children and grandchildren had flights after 1pm, and were in the airport after having taken the Disney transfers by 10:30am. They could easily have taken earlier flights home.

1:50!!!! Why ruin the end of your trip hoping everything will go perfect to the airport? Better safe than sorry! My experience today on another ship was very late debarking trying to clear customs. Didn't get off till 11!!!

Orlando is my home airport and I fly out of it weekly. I've seen security lines take an hour there.

I've also been on a cruise that was late getting back into Port canaveral by several hours, and there's no way anyone with a 1:00pm flight made it, let alone noon.

I wouldn't take the chance. My opinion.

Hey Pez, where are you flying off to? I can see if you are flying off to the West coast that you would want an earlier flight. But if you live in the Eastern 1/2 of the country, take your time... Why get off a nice relaxing vacation to rush around to the airport???

Why would you want an earlier flight if you are flying west? You gain time going that way. When I take a 5:00 pm flight from Orlando, I land in San Francisco around 9:00pm. and that includes changing planes in PHX.
