Snorkel & Beach Aruba

My Mom and I will have one day in Aruba on Princess cruise in February. I want to snorkel, and I want to go somewhere with a nice beach that my mom could relax that offers a chair and an umbrella. The ideal place would also have some shopping, but snorkeling is the priority. Suggestions??

We're seniors and although I love snorkling, I prefer not to deal with boats anymore. I just like walking in from the beach. Baby Beach on Aruba is my favorite all-time spot. Beautiful water, you can walk right out to the protected area by the reef, they have a minor number of facilities but enough to make the day lovely. They rent beach chairs, palapas, have food and equipment. Would meet both of your needs.

But it's a long ride (about 45 minutes.) You either need to arrange with a cab to take you and stay, or rent a car and go on your own.

We actually picked our cruise itinerary just for me to have my "fix" at Baby Beach!
