PH1 vs. PH2 vs. PH 3 on Nautica-Med. in Oct.

We are interested in Nautica sailing from Rome to Barcelona in October, 2012. Debate is over location of PH suites. Is the price differential due to the locations of the suites worth the difference? Are the seas rough in the western Med. in October?

The seas do tend to run higher (more and larger waves) outside of the peak Summer season (which is one of the reasons why the Summer is considered to BE the season). Weather being what it is, you will hear about people who had perfect weather in October, but there are also years when the ships simply cannot access some ports because of the high seas. If you book later in the year, you should be aware that you are taking more of a chance with that.

Because all of the Penthouses are on Deck 8, which suite you choose mostly has to do with how much walking you are willing to do and how often you are willing to do it. If you're the type of person who likes to return to the room often, having a central location might be important to you.

On an Oceania Ship, the dining venues are in the stern, the entertainment and lounges are forward. Think about how you will be using the facilities; book your room with an eye towards that, and you will love your location.
