"Semi-submarine" tour

DH and I are cruising HAL, Southern Caribbean in November. I've gotten all of our shore excursions booked except Aruba. DH thinks he wants to do the Sea and See Island Tour. Trouble is, the scant amount of reviews available aren't all that positive for this excursion. I'm thinking it may just be a better idea to rent a taxi for 4 hours to explore the island on our own. Honestly, I don't really care. If the "semi-submarine" excursion is worth it, I'd be fine with that.

Do any of you have any first-hand information about this particular tour?

We just returned from a cruise through the Panama Canal with a final stop in Aruba. We took a combination excursion that included the semi-submarine and an island tour. I would definitely recommend skipping the semi-submarine portion. You walk down stairs until you are about 5 feet under water. The boat operator makes two or three passes over the top of a sunken ship that you can barely see. We saw very few fish. It was definitely not worth the cost. The island tour portion was much more enjoyable and informative. :)
