Katakolon - transport to Olympia

Hi

Does anyone know if there's a nice sandy beach near where we dock? My 15 yr-old grand-daughter would like a swim in the Ionian Sea. We arrive on a Saturday in early July.

If you Google Mykonos and look at it on Google maps, you'll see a small beach just south of Babulas Taverna, just before you come into town. Depending on where your ship docks, (ours docked very close to that area. Others dock farther north) it is right close to town. We didn't swim as it was a little chilly in mid May, but there were a number of people sun bathing and playing in the water. Probably very nice in July.

Now, "nice sandy beach" can be a relative term. If you're looking for Southern California sand, you won't find it at this beach. Much larger size grains, though it appears it would be a fun beach to play at. And the water was crystal clear and blue. Havee a wonderful day in Mykonos. We loved it!
