sscruising Posted October 17, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 17, 2011 We will be sailing on the Rhapsody next August & hubby wants to do halibut fishing in Juneau. Does anyone know who the charter company RC uses for this trip? My BH is a totally fanatical fisherman-also a charter boat captain-and likes to know everything in advance. Hope someone knows the answer-RC says they don't give out thaqt info. Sandi
luckymbt Posted October 18, 2011 #2 Share Posted October 18, 2011 Try this link http://www.alaskanfishingadventure.com/juneau-alaska.htm . We used them out of Ketchikan a few years ago and had a very good experience. We only had a 1/2 day in port and were a bit worried about getting there, having time to fish and get back. But it went great, they picked us up right next to the ship and off we went. Any fish you catch is processed and shipped home to you on the date you desire.( fish processing extra) ...but Delicious !!! It was not rough on the water , btw. Us gals enjoyed it just as much as the fellas.
Rancher Dave Posted October 18, 2011 #3 Share Posted October 18, 2011 I'd try to fish the day before or after the cruise not during a port stop. We went after salmon and it was a big bust... even within the same overall operator the actual captain of the boat can make or break and sadly our captain didn't do a good job. He did get us close to see some breaching whales.
