Onboard credit and Bingo

My sister has a lot of onboard credit and wanted to know if she can use it when she plays Bingo on the Qm2.

I know most things you can use it for but have no idea about Bingo.

I would have thought that would come under casino charges and wouldn't be able to be used but if anyone knows better.

We have played bingo and the price per sheet is charged to your onboard account. I would say yes you can us your OBC for this.

I would check this out again if I was you. We were on the Queen Victoria recently and the Bingo Tickets were definitely not payable against On Board Credit as they are a Casino charge and your On Board Credit cannot be used against Casino charges.

It all depends whether you have purchased the OBC or been given it as a freebie.

 

If you've purchased it, then you can use it as you please, including casino use.

 

However, if it has been given free by Cunard, then there are strings attached and you cannot use it for gambling of any sort.

 

Bingo is extremely cheap, so I'm sure she won't miss a few dollars.

I agree. Yes the charge is put on your onboard acc, but in a separate column against which OBC cannot be applied. In my experience it doesn't matter whether you purchased it(Gift Credit) or were given it by TA or Cunard.

BigMac153 is perfectly correct. Any OBC which has been previously purchased in advance with your own money can be used for whatever you want, Casino included. It is only the 'complimentary' On Board Credits which are given as a freebie from either Cunard or your TA which cannot be used against the Casino or Bingo as Bingo is classed as gambling.

What can on board credit not be used against?

 

When on board credit is applied to your on board account, you may use this against any purchases on board.

This includes items purchased from any of the shops, in the spa and salon on treatments, on photography services, laundry, shore excursions, beverages from the bar, restaurant cover charges and hotel and dining charges (automatic gratuities).

On board credit may not be used against medical facilities, artwork, ad hoc gratuities, local currency, casino chips or credits or any other kind of gambling.

On board credit is non refundable.

Twice last year and twice this year.

 

Quite simply, your own money is your own money (inc OBC's) and absoluitely nothing in that regards has changed.

Unfortunately I had the opposite experience. I was told by Soton and the Purser onboard QE that the $5000 OBC i had purchased could not be used in the Casino or returned if unused. In the end tho' I suppose few of us have any credit left so it's all academic.
