City Sights Bus in Wellington NZ

Several months ago I found the web site for the City Sights HOHO bus, but now I can't seem to locate it. Do they still have the City Sights bus in Wellingon? If so, can we catch it at any of the stops? Was thinking it would be a close walk to catch it at the Parliament Precinct stop close to Aotea Quay where we will dock.

Thanks,

Carol

Hi Carol,

This could link you to the site you are looking for.

It may pay to check it further though , as I had not heard of this service before.

Wellington is very compact and the local bus does a City circuit for as little as $2.

Thanks, Kiwi. I wrote to the tourist information center............waiting for their reply.

Did you mean Wellington has a bus that does a complete city circuit? Thought I read earlier about that, but they say they do not have that anymore. The local buses are really reasonable........probably will try them to get around.

Unfortunately the Wellington CitySights bus was withdrawn during the winter. There is another operator - http://www.wellingtonnz.com/sights_activities/john%E2%80%99s_hop_hop_city_tour

To get an idea of the tour options in Wellington, have a look at

http://www.wellingtonnz.com/sights_activities/tours and http://www.wellingtonnz.com/visitor_information/transport/getting_wellington/cruise

The other contributers are quite right when they say Wellington is a little city - you'll have a shuttle (probably a pay service) from cruise terminal to the centre of Wellington. From Parliament Buildings at one end of the city to the Embassy Theatre/Courtenay Place at the other can be walked in about half an hour if you're quick, or dawdling and shopping can take the whole day!
