best place to buy a ring on cruise

I am on acruise on the aurora next march and will be calling at some of the ports below, i was wondering if anyone had any idea of which one would be the most cost effective to buy an eternity ring for my wife

Singapore (China town) is best in our experience. We followed the ship's crew from Superstar Gemini to a jewellers and bought gold rings. Singapore seems safest of all.

We've bought jewellery in India and Dubai. If you buy in India it won't be hallmarked, so when you return you will need to have this done.

 

Even allowing for hallmarking and a valuation the ring we paid £300 for (it was made for us - we chose the diamond and setting) had a replacement value of £900.

 

Middle east shops sell gold by weight so you need an idea of current gold values before negotiating.
