Bringing alchol on board norwegian sun

Can anyone tell me if you can bring alchol on board? Are you able to buy it in the duty free and drink it in your room? Friends of ours were on a short cruise recently and said that they were no longer permitted to do this.... Thanks!

You are not supposed to bring alcohol on board with you. If they find it they will take it and return at end of cruise. If you buy any in the onboard shops, they hold it until the last day and then you can pick it up.
