hotel by Fajardo Biobay or old san juan pre cruise?

We will be traveling a day early and like to see a biobay in San Juan. Now, is it better to stay at a hotel by the bay or by old san juan? What is the cost of the taxi? What is the best bay? Best tour guide? Any suggestions/ input about this topic would be appreciated!

I did the biobay from Old San Juan, because there's so much to do day and night there. I went with http://WWW.kayakingpuertorico.com, because their website said they pick up in OSJ (as opposed to me having to call to see if they do). The only problem is they need a minimum number in order to pick up there. The RT extra for pickup was only $20 which I thought was reasonable considering the distance/time. Traffic was horrible, so it took longer than normal.

 

Other companies are pureadventure, and yokahu. They all get good reviews on Trip Advisor, so it all boils down to who has enough people signed up from OSJ to guarantee pick up, I think.
