stamfordian Posted October 24, 2011 #2 Share Posted October 24, 2011 What is the significence of the V re.cabin allocation is it position as it appears a cabin/suite can be a deck # + a V designation. Suites on larger ships - Odyssey, Sojourn, Quest - with "V" designation have balconies/verandahs. Range is from V1 to V6 depending on deck and position on that deck. So V1 closer to bow on deck 5, V2 midships deck 5, V3 bows on deck 6, V4 bows on deck 7 and 8, V5 midships deck 6 and V6 midships deck 7 and 8. Traditionally people pay higher prices as go upwards. Top decks then top-priced Penthouses etc. Most cruise lines also charge premium for midships vs bow position in view slightly smoother ride if weather cuts up rough. JaneBP Posted October 24, 2011 #3 Share Posted October 24, 2011 V1 & V2 balconies are also partially obstructed with flashing on the bottom, which slightly impedes the view.
