jenhall11 Posted April 12, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 12, 2004 My parents are going on teh CRown on 5/23 I have several questions. 1. Was there a midnight buffet 2. How may formal nights and which night. 3. What night was lobster served. 4. How was boarding and disemark. In Philly. (I will be the one dropping them off and will take any tips Re: traffic.) 5. Was there an afternoon tea? 6. What type of activites were on board. 7. How rocky was the ride? 8. Was there a chocolate buffett and if so when was it? NO charge in Past Cafe or Chopsticks. I saw Lobster on the menu at Seven Seas ( do not eat it) can't remember when Disembarcation went very well at Phila. the MUmmers were there playing. It was easy to claim luggage and they were setting up the computers for the embarcation of the next cruise. We had to walk about a block and a half to where they have the vans and taxis parked. Buses were lined up right out the front door. I was home to the Willow grove area in about an hour fron the time I walked off the ship. We did not have the Chocolate Buffet. I was told this was because of the virus that was onboard. It is the first of 8 cruises with NCL that there was no Chocolate Buffet. Yes there were rocky moments here and there on the 13 day trip . I really did not notice them, but there were some who mentioned the "rolling last night" I think there were two optional formal night. Many never went formal. You do not have to on Free style cruising. Just leave your gowns and tuxes at home if you want. Hope this helps.

SailorsMate Posted April 15, 2004 #6 Share Posted April 15, 2004 Thanks Cruzholic-- Your remarks are appreciated by those interested in the Crown-- Anybody care to comment on whether they have movies on the Crown and whether the "bay window" I see in the picture in the mini-suites on Deck 9 open??? Thanks in advance. All comments, info welcome.
cruzholic Posted April 16, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 16, 2004 Hi again. I forgot to say.....The movies are on your TV in your room. The crown does not have a theater, just the Star Dust Lounge. As for windows I have never known a window in a cabin to open. Balcony doors yes, but not windows. We were in cabin 5004 with two port holes that did not open but did have cover doors on the inside which were closed overnight once when high winds were expected. SailorsMate Posted April 17, 2004 #10 Share Posted April 17, 2004 Thanks for the info on the windows Cruz-- I didn't think they opened-- I was hoping though-- I'm used to having a balcony- I went for the suite on the Crown- I do enjoy the "freestyle"- I'm sure with so much time in port I'll get enough fresh air anyway.. Thanks again.
