E106 on Grand Princess--Can You See Into The Cabin?

Just had our guaranteed cabin allocated and we've been given E106, an outside, on Emerald deck.

Looking at the deck plan it seems to be on the upper prom deck with a walk around deck outside.

Does that mean anyone standing/walking outside can see into the cabin. I realise that we can pull the curtains, but that rather defeats the point of having an outside.

Anyone any experience of cabins in this area?

The OV windows that face the Upper Promenade deck on Grand have a one way viewing coating on them as shown in the shots below which were taken as a screen shot from our Grand TA cruise video. That's why the quality isn't very good. Cabin E106 is the middle window in the top shot.

On one of our first cruises which was on the old RC ship, Song of Norway, we had a OV that overlooked the walkway on the outdoor Promenade deck and DW was concerned that others walking out there could see in to our cabin. She sent me out there to check that out and I reported back that everything was fine as the window had a reflective coating that didn't allow the inside of our cabin to be viewed from the outside.

At that time we didn't know that the coating only worked that way if it was much brighter out and the lights were out in the cabin. A couple evenings later, when it was dark out, we were out strolling out on that Promenade deck and went by our cabin which had its curtain open as well as its light on and the inside was quite visible. DW just calmly said " I may have given someone quite a show over the previous few evening" and she made sure those curtainS were well drawn at night from then on.

People can walk by but you will be higher and will look down at the them. At night they close off that area of the deck. Those rooms are right in the area of the steps coming up from deck seven.

gmona, it is only the balcony of the Cat. BE and BFcabins facing the Upper Promenade deck that are higher. The OV cabins which are forward or at the top of the short flight of curved stairs are not.
