The Italian restruaunt is very good. If you order room service coffee, order 2 pots at a time, the pots are only about 20oz. Also room service coffee is extrememly strong, get extra creamer. Since the main restruaunts have the same menu, if there is a line at 1 go to the other. The restruaurnt service is a bit slow, expect to spend more than an hour eating. The good desserts are hidden in the sports bar. The pizza in the Italian restruaurnt is much better than the pizza in the pizzaria! The pizziaria food in general is horrid but they do have good cookies stashed there! Almost everything on the ship is on deck 9 and 10. That's about all the 'insider' tips I can think of at the moment.

We did the baltic last year. The terraces was better service in my opinion than the four seasons and less lines. The sports bar is good for quick service but the breakfasts were not as warm as they should be.The speciality retaurants we did not try but heard good reports.Either way the freestyle lets you do your own thing and we found that useful with a port intensive cruise.

Enjoy!!!!

Sailed the Dream 11/02 and have posted numrous times about the things we loved. Quick run thru

Dine room breakfast: Unlike most of the other major lines NCL had rotating breakfast specials in addition to the standards; eggs benedict, eggs sardou, and eggs ??, different frittat, different flavor blinta.

All in addition to the standard eggs, omlettes, pancakes, lox/bagel.

Deck BBQ Lunch: REAL BBQ on giant weber grills

Dine room lunch: there was always a "little" extra something not on the menu like made for you desert crepes with vanilla ice cream.

We were not nuts for the italian resturant but loved Le Bistro even after I swore I would never pay for a meal aboard a ship.

Of the free dine rooms we liked Terraces best. Slightly smaller with giant windows overlooking the mainly ignored aft pool (very difficult to get to.

If you are a later eater check the Sport Bar Buffet just after dinner opening. They usually have a chef hand rolling sushi to order (not very much is raw) and had some interesting entrees that we grabbed a taste of and took to our cabin for a pre-dinner snack while showering and changing.

Also, Sport Bar buffet had some really good deserts at lunch and dinner, small sandwiches and stuff in the late afternoon.

Yes, on our 9 day cruise I gained more weight than any other but it dropped right off at home.

Do not miss chocolate decadance desert or the chocoholic desert buffet if you are a chocolate nut.
