My sister wants to get married in Key West on the beach. We are sailing on Rhapsody Of The Seas 9/25/05. Our itinerary says we are in Key West from 3:00pm until 11:30pm. Is it 3:00pm central or eastern time. We need to know as the court house in Key West closes at 5:00pm. Can anyone help? The wedding co-ordinator in Key West said there will be enough time if we arrive at 4:00 but my sister is very concerned.

Also does anyone have any recommendations for a beach wedding in Key West?

Pictures of there beach wedding?

The time in Key West is Eastern time, the same as the rest of Florida. The courthouse is not very far, nothing is very far, from the dock in Key West. If your ship is on time and docks at 3 PM you should be able to get off no later than 3:30 PM. You probably should have your sister or you should go to the pursors desk and explain what you are doing and see if they can arrange to have you be the first people off the ship. That would give you some additional time just in case. Then make sure the wedding co-ordinator in Key West is going to be there on the dock to greet you and guide you to the court house.

I suspect the ship's personnel will do all they can to help you if you let them know ahead of time.

Congratulations and have a great next cruise.

You are correct that Key West is in the Eastern time zone. However, just remember that the Florida Panhandle (which is basically Tallahasee and West to the Alabama State Line) is in the Central Time Zone...this became an issue during the 2000 Presidential Election when the TV News Networks made their infamous "projections" after the Eastern Time zone portion of the state closed, but the Central Time Zone portion still had their election polling areas still open.
