travbee Posted April 6, 2005 #1 Share Posted April 6, 2005 Someone suggested getting a taxi in Ketchikan and having them take you around Ketchikan - said it was cheaper and you only saw exactly what you wanted to see. Anyone else every done this here? Thanks,
musicmansmom Posted April 6, 2005 #2 Share Posted April 6, 2005 ketchikan is very walkable and i would not pay for a taxi to take me around. there are too many great shops to stop and go in while you are walking through the streets. that would be hard to do with a taxi waiting and it would probably be a very expensive adventure . just my opion though. BK300 Posted April 6, 2005 #3 Share Posted April 6, 2005 Our last trip to Alaska we did the tour in a 55 Chevy. Very nice, personal & knowledgable, and not that expensive. Something different. http://www.classictours.com Enjoy ;)
Budget Queen Posted April 6, 2005 #4 Share Posted April 6, 2005 I too would not recommend just getting a cab. My recommendation would be for you to request Ketchikan's visitor guide and see what is of interest for you? Look over your shore excursion list. If you are open- then I would suggest instead getting a tour at the dock visitor center. This then has an itinerary rather then just a hit and miss last minute booking.
