Panama Canal by taxi

Recommended Posts

We got a taxi for $40 for 4 after walking across the walkway. It was a 20 minute ride and we were fortunate to see a ship do a complete transit which was very interesting. We left the ship at 10:30, returned at 12. Our driver (Archibald) was very nice but his car was a little beat up. For $62 for 4 you could get a new car and could book this as soon as you walked into the terminal. Bargain t-shirts are to be had for $5 ($4 in the electronics store) and a fellow passenger got off the ship only to purchase them. He bought some last year and said they were excellent quality. We were in port on a Saturday and the internet cafe and Free Zone shopping area are always closed on weekends.
