At work - leaving tonight for cruise. Just checked rollcall and someone received a call from Celebrity telling them our Villefrance has changed to Cannes. Originally thought - fine we'll just go to Antibes which we love. But, have never been to St. Paul de Vence. Don't have time to search and read right now. Anyone - is it easily doable?

Oh - via public transport.... don't want to rent a car - can't drive a stick and an automotic might be tough to get on such short notice.

Short answer is yes but I could not tell you the best way since we have arranged to do it by private tour. Our ship stops at Cannes.

If you have time to do a quick search there are a couple threads about it.

LOL! fortunately boss is out....did the search. Looks like too much trouble. Will stick with the easy train or bus to Antibes. When we went to Cannes on land trip didn't get to peak into the hotels so that might be nice also. Picasso museum in Antibes looks interesting - we haven't seen that yet. And....still wouldn't be surprised if we end up in Toulon given the problems tendering in Med at this time of year.

Thanks so much - for your quick response.

Getting to St Paul de Vence by public transit is really the same from Cannes as Villefranche other then the direction of the train. You would take the train from Cannes towards Nice and get off at the Cagnes sur Mer station (this is before you get to Nice). From there you need to catch the #400 bus to St Paul de Vence (ask at the station where to catch the bus). It can easily take 1 1/2 hours each way since the 400 bus only runs about once every 45 min. If you still want to go to Antibes you can simply take the same train (towards Nice) and get off at Antibes. It takes about 20-25 min to walk from the Cannes tender pier to the train station (its a nice walk through the best parts of Cannes) or you can try to find a taxi (good luck!).
