Beef Tea

Here's an off-the-wall question, but I'm feelling slightly under the weather this morning and was sitting here with a hot mug of the stuff.

 

Has anyone ever had occasion to ask and determine if beef tea (Bovril, I'm assuming; home-made stuff would certainly be too much trouble) is available on the current Cunard vessels?

 

Or if one foresees the need, should one come aboard prepared to be self-sufficient? :)

Usually, it was a simple "boullion" broth. Just pick up some boullion cubes at the market. Try it at home to get the flavor you like, then just use hot water from the tea server in Kings Court & you're good to go.

Thanks. A jar of Bovril would be preferable to bouillon cubes, though! (Both provide a ghastly dose of sodium, but Bovril tastes better.)

Yes, I can just see those salt crystals just floating in the ol' veins. That's why I'd say experiment first to get it the way you like. If you'd like to spend 10-20K+ you can get Boullion service aboard the Europa. They also still serve the "real" thing when it comes to Caviar, but now only every other day.

I asked for a Bullshot in the Commodore Club. Bullshot.....beef boullion and a shot of vodka over ice. It's actually very nice as a pick-me-up in the afternoon...as in Bloody Mary. The bartender said he didn't have it but could get it for the next day. It actually took 3 days to get the beef boullion but once they know there is a request, it will be available. :)
