FLL Budget Rental Car Return

We are renting a Budget rental car for several days before our cruise. The night before our cruise, we are staying at the Holiday Inn Express, near the airport and port.

The day of the cruise, should we drop off luggage and people at the port and then return the Budget rental car?

OR

The night before the cruise, return the Budget rental car to the airport (free shuttle from airport to hotel) and then take taxis to the port?

Budget has an office basically across the road from your hotel. Not sure how late you were thinking of returning the car if you did it the night before, but I would check their office hours to see if that suits you better than going back to the airport. The port is nice and close as well, so if you kept the car until the morning, then dropping off the luggage would be something to consider (I wouldn't sit in a long line at security to do this, however). Then you can return to the location mentioned above. I'm not sure if they have a free shuttle from there, but a cab would be about $10, and would be worth it to not have to wait in line for the shuttle.
