Essexlass2 Posted November 22, 2011 #1 Share Posted November 22, 2011 Having heard that Thomas Cook are having problems, I wonder what happens if they do go bust before our flight from Gatwick on 9th December comes around. We've never had a good experience of their flights to the Caribbean anyway, but we'd hate to be left without a flight on the day. Does anyone know what would happen in this scenario? wales4ever Posted November 22, 2011 #2 Share Posted November 22, 2011 Well I'd like to think that P+O would arrange flight with a different airline (Thomson etc) If 5/600 of you are flying with Thomas Cook and they went bust, then P+O would lose a hatfull of money as the ship would be rather quiet! Plus another 5/600 from Birmingham etc.
Brian Raine Posted November 22, 2011 #3 Share Posted November 22, 2011 Current reporting today indicates Thomas Cook is only after the banks to "reschedule" their outstanding debts. They have money but not in the pocket there is talk of them making a profit this year, so the chances of TC going belly up is remote. We are flying with them on 06Dec to Trieste for the Adonia cruise, failing that P&O will , Iam sure, provide alternative arrangements, Iam sure Emirates will lend them a A380 with lots of parachutes.
