cruzin pink princess Posted December 4, 2011 #601 Share Posted December 4, 2011
It was the complimentary wine list with many choices. I happen to like white Zinfandel . Jvdmd: since we are both platinum, we ate at both lebistro and cagneys for free with a bottle of wine at each. We gave away six bottles of house wine which we accumulated through our TA/latitudes/winning in casino etc. They would not let me pay to upgrade to something other than the house wine (brut, merlot,Chardonnay)
Welcome home ! Wow...nice perks...can we share in 2012?? ...we are still golden !
Tiggertastic Posted December 4, 2011 #602 Share Posted December 4, 2011
My husband has Silver marked next to his name on our Edocs, I have Bronze. We were married 20 years yesterday and never cruised alone! I'm wondering if I should bother calling NCL to change or if I can "tag along" with hubby on his silver upgrade? /QUOTE] I wish as I am silver and my husband platinum but you have to earn your own level. It doesn't matter anyway as the cabin gets the perks so his invite to the latitudes wine meet with the captain will include you etc. So when my husband gets a free dinner in Le Bistro, that means me too - our problem is our son is in another cabin so we will have to pay for him to join us. stubborn peke Posted December 4, 2011 #603 Share Posted December 4, 2011 Just turn silver on our last cruise in April. Now we're Platinum, it was the 79 cruise days. If one now booked 9 months in advance with the Monthly Latitude offer, the credit points should be 3 per cruise day. Now if later there is a price drop on the cruise fare and one wishes to rebook with the new price will the 2 additional points per days be lost? I think that's where it might help if you've booked directly with an NCL and have a savy Personal Cruise Consultant. I think there are multiple ways of changing the reservation (and get the price decrease), some keep and others change the original booking date. (e.g. cabin location change that opens the door to also get the new lower price)

Say hi to Jennifer. Re: your question. I would say yes, you are going to lose the additional points because it is a new booking.

cliffd64 Posted December 5, 2011 #610 Share Posted December 5, 2011 Interesting changes to the program. Seems to favor length of cruises heavily, effectively removing the loophole regarding short cruises (which enabled my wife to accelerate up to platinum quickly... Thankfully she is grandfathered.) No real effect on my own status as I have accumulated 140 points... I did see that the concierge service has been restored to platinum level which is a nice perk to have. It might be very beneficial to some friends of mine who were silver and might actually bump up higher under the new rules... --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=41.648753,-72.724372

Generally they don't send things unless you've specifically indicated you wish to receive emails, either through the "preferences" section on MyNCL, or via the ever-present pop-up which appears while you're navigating the NCL site. Another thought ~ if your spam filter is extremely efficient, you may inadvertently be blocking emails of this type. ;)

And no I don't think it's my spam filter, it seems to let everything through from Tom, Dick or Harry (no insult to anyone with those names, it's only a saying ;)) And I always check my junk mail as well. Rare LAFFNVEGAS Posted December 5, 2011 #622 Share Posted December 5, 2011 I really like the new Latitudes Program, while I did not jump levels I am only 4 points away having only done one 7 night and one 2 nighter. This new program seems to mirror Holland America's Past Passenger Program in many ways but with getting to the Top level much quicker. The part that worries me is how long till more than 75% of the ships are at the Top Level  I would have thought they would have set the bar higher. Le Bistro is my favorite restaurant but now I have a feeling it will be harder to get in :o Fortunately my next NCL cruise next November is in a Suite so I might just be able to get a reservation..... or at least I hope. I love the NCL sailings where the Executive Chef does a Special Dinner night with a Unique 7 course menu wine pairings, even at a cost of $75 pp. Now that would make a great Milestone Gift.
