Upgraded Latitude Levels?
It was the complimentary wine list with many choices. I happen to like white Zinfandel .
Jvdmd: since we are both platinum, we ate at both lebistro and cagneys for free with a bottle of wine at each. We gave away six bottles of house wine which we accumulated through our TA/latitudes/winning in casino etc. They would not let me pay to upgrade to something other than the house wine (brut, merlot,Chardonnay)
Welcome home ! Wow...nice perks...can we share in 2012?? ...we are still golden !
My husband has Silver marked next to his name on our Edocs, I have Bronze. We were married 20 years yesterday and never cruised alone! I'm wondering if I should bother calling NCL to change or if I can "tag along" with hubby on his silver upgrade?

/QUOTE]

I wish as I am silver and my husband platinum but you have to earn your own level. It doesn't matter anyway as the cabin gets the perks so his invite to the latitudes wine meet with the captain will include you etc. So when my husband gets a free dinner in Le Bistro, that means me too - our problem is our son is in another cabin so we will have to pay for him to join us.

Just turn silver on our last cruise in April. Now we're Platinum, it was the 79 cruise days.

If one now booked 9 months in advance with the Monthly Latitude offer, the credit points should be 3 per cruise day.

Now if later there is a price drop on the cruise fare and one wishes to rebook with the new price will the 2 additional points per days be lost?

Interesting query.

I think that's where it might help if you've booked directly with an NCL and have a savy Personal Cruise Consultant.

I think there are multiple ways of changing the reservation (and get the price decrease), some keep and others change the original booking date. (e.g. cabin location change that opens the door to also get the new lower price)

Does it really matter? You have reached the top tier NCL has now

Hi Jack, hope all is well up in Vancouver. Say hi to Jennifer.
Re: your question. I would say yes, you are going to lose the additional points because it is a new booking.

All I have to say is the new program makes me yawn. I have been Platinum for a few years now. Nothing mentioned with the new perks makes me excited. I do feel happy for family members who cruise with me that are now bumped up to Platinum.

I am with you. Happy for those that suddenly made platinum including my family but nothing in it for me with 35 NCL cruises. I hope the milestone gifts are retro active.

I still think NCL will eventually add tiers above Platinum. The Bonus Point "Gifts" will probably become the benchmarks for those new tiers.

Interesting changes to the program. Seems to favor length of cruises heavily, effectively removing the loophole regarding short cruises (which enabled my wife to accelerate up to platinum quickly... Thankfully she is grandfathered.)

No real effect on my own status as I have accumulated 140 points...

I did see that the concierge service has been restored to platinum level which is a nice perk to have.

It might be very beneficial to some friends of mine who were silver and might actually bump up higher under the new rules...
Just received an email from NCL explaining the new levels and how to acheive them faster. Watch your inboxes.

Me too. I am now two points away from platinum.
:( I don't think NCL likes me, I never receive any emails from them. :(

Have you signed up to receive them? Generally they don't send things unless you've specifically indicated you wish to receive emails, either through the "preferences" section on MyNCL, or via the ever-present pop-up which appears while you're navigating the NCL site.

Another thought ~ if your spam filter is extremely efficient, you may inadvertently be blocking emails of this type.

Yup I did it twice through My NCL and numerous times in the last 2 years with the annoying pop up.

And no I don't think it's my spam filter, it seems to let everything through from Tom, Dick or Harry (no insult to anyone with those names, it's only a saying ;)) And I always check my junk mail as well.

I'm tellin' ya they just don't like me. Hmmm and to think all that money into their slots, you'd think they'd love me. :( :p
NCL doesn't like my email either....I've signed up multiple times on their website, and have my email address in my profile on their site....nothing. :(
LOL OK I'll stop pouting then, at least I'm in good company. :D

I really like the new Latitudes Program, while I did not jump levels I am only 4 points away having only done one 7 night and one 2 nighter. This new program seems to mirror Holland America's Past Passenger Program in many ways but with getting to the Top level much quicker. The part that worries me is how long till more than 75% of the ships are at the Top Level  I would have thought they would have set the bar higher. Le Bistro is my favorite restaurant but now I have a feeling it will be harder to get in :o Fortunately my next NCL cruise next November is in a Suite so I might just be able to get a reservation..... or at least I hope.
Does anyone know if they will still be giving OBC for attaining the next level?

Al
Yes, it's a continuous OBC not a one time shot. Check the benefits table and you will se the OBC for each tier.

On my last 3 cruises, I've noticed more empty tables at Le Bistro. Perhaps it was just a fluke but it may be that with so many other options they have empty tables.

I love the NCL sailings where the Executive Chef does a Special Dinner night with a Unique 7 course menu wine pairings, even at a cost of $75 pp. Now that would make a great Milestone Gift.
