Another priority check in question - sorry!

Okay, did a search on this but no answer..

Here is our situation.

We are going back to back. 14 nights in total. We have for the first cruise, an aft extended balcony, and for the second a suite. We would change to the suite for the first cruise if it became available, but less than 8 weeks away now, still full. On B2B, at cruise number two, we just get escorted off and back on the ship. What do they give you to board as VIP? Can we possibly use our second cruise board docs for our actual point of boarding which is at the beginning of our first cruise?

If not, will be wasting two VIP passes I guess ?

I am not seriously bothered, I kind of dont mind the queue thing, kind of like that mad rush anticipation...but just wondered what does actually happen in this situation..

Or shall I get escorted off, back on, and throw my VIP passes overboard to the nearest person:D Are they of any use to anyone else? I've heard mention of people selling some kind of passes on ebay (NO I dont want to sell anything lol)..but just curious to know if firstly, can I use them for our actual boarding point on cruise 1) or secondly, if not, could someone else technically use them?

Sorry..I do prattle a bit, am sure you have the just of it? :o

No one else should be able to use, due to fact that your name, cabin, and booking # are on them. Plus the fact that only the sail n sign cards that are for VIP (suites & platinum) are kept in the VIP room.

Sorry.

after everyone is off the ship, you will meet probably by the pursers desk with other b2b, you will be escorted off, and they check your papers, and you go right back on. don't take your luggage. it takes all of 15 min. really quick, and you get to enjoy the ship for 2maybe3 hours empty yea

I know how you feel, it is kind of a let down to get your Platinum card on the last leg. I am doing the same thing. But, at least I will be Platinum, no matter what happens next year.

I booked my last leg later, so couldn't get the same room, but was able to get one on the same floor, around the corner, so I can just wheel my luggage myself and put it near the door, without having to have a steward do it for me.

Thanks for that

How about being able to use them on our actual boarding day then? Is that possible?

Probably not. As someone has already stated, only the Sign and Sail cards for the people who have VIP boarding are in the VIP room. So, even though you could probably get into the VIP room (just show them the VIP Fun Pass from the second cruise, no one really pays attention to names, dates, etc.), your cards wouldn't be there. That being said, it would only take them a few minutes to go get them from the other line.

If I were you, I would use the VIP board pass from the second leg to gain access to the VIP room. Once there, and they realize that your cards aren't there, just plead ignorance. I'm sure they will not throw you out. They will just go get your cards and you'll be on your way :)

I did a b2b a few years ago. We were requested to meet someplace(lounge) at around 9am. We were served juice and Danish. After a few moments we were all given new s&s cards. They then walked us down the gangplank one bing on the Old card on the way out and a nice new bing on the way back in. We went to our new state room(last minute add on,needed a different room). By the time we got back to our new room all of our stuff had been tranfsered by our wonderful stewards. We did not pack a thing. I actually walked off the ship and back on in my robe. It was really fun. There was a woman that did not want to do all that mumbo jumbo. She refused to go off and come back on. We all waited a few minutes for her to show then the staffer assisting us b2b said nervemind just call security and go give her an escort!

Going to the VIP room won't be necessary. The last day of the first cruise you should receive information on where to meet on the last day. Usually about 10:00 am near the purser's office. On our last B2B, there were only 6 of us, no crowd. A crew member will take you off the ship over to a counter with all of the new B2B paperwork, give you your new S&S card and then they take you right back on the ship. You will need to have your passport as you do pass through customs but since you aren't taking anything off with you, it only takes a minute. You will be back on the ship in 10-15 minutes. Very simple. Talk to your steward and he will help you with getting your luggage to the new cabin.
