port of new Orleans

walked over to the port yesterday to check it out. it is a terrible set up with awful access. definately the worst I have ever seen. we stayed at the Hilton next door at the far end of the river walk and are going to wheel our luggage over. the cab driver from the airport told us its really bad at the port.

Wow, really? We've done this many times and never had an issue. What did you see that made you think it was terrible? Walking from the Hilton with luggage certainly won't be fun. Railroad tracks, no sidewalks and an awkward path to the terminal. We always take a cab for $5 and a 5 minute trip and on the ship. Hope it works out for you.
