Devils Bridge

When I was last in Antigua, 2 of us went to a little visitors cabin that is located as you walk straight off the dock into town (its small on your right side) and negotiated our own tour. They took us everywhere on the island and since we were sun burnt a beach day wasn't on the agenda. Some impressive stops on the way: there is a National Park there that is on top of a cliff area that has an overlook of the ocean & also looks accross a small inlet to 2 huge mansions located up on the adjoining cliff which are homes owned by Oprah Winfrey and Eric Clapton but its a spectacular view of the Caribbean. On the other side of the same park is an overlook looking across a harbor with many sailboats and the remains of a small old Spanish style fort. We stopped for a few minutes at the zip line place to take pictures, stopped an old, colorful church then a stop at Devils Bridge, a flat windy inlet at the water where the wind drives the waves to the rocky shore and throws up huge waves in spectacular fashion. This is a prime place for sailboats as well and there is small, calm beach up the way although its not the best one we saw. The nicer, prettier one was past a line of pineapple groves which could be Dickinson Bay. I HIGHLY recommend seeing the park and Devil's Bridge for the views and then hitting the beach.

Sounds kinda intresting... what was the cost? how long was the trip? with 365 beaches what beach would you see? had you been in Antuiga before this last trip? how long ago was it that you went? Thank you for sharing your info.
