zahr03 Posted April 27, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 27, 2004 I have a question for anyone who has been in the suites on the foreward part of the ship (just below the bridge). Question #1 - what's the wind like - is it too windy or were you comfortable? Question #2 - Do you really get a good, wide view from those rooms or is it partially blocked? Appreciate it!!! 6/6/2004 NCL Star to Alaska
kparam Posted April 28, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 28, 2004 We chose an AFT cabin on the star - CAT AD - because of the wind problems on the front. Whenever we walked on deck at the front of the ship, we really appreciated the aft. We were able to sit on the balcony at all times, even in the rain. We could read and lay down the book to walk back into the cabin without fear of the book being blown away. The view from the AFT was best when we were leaving port, but that was really nice, especially at night. We had drinks a few times at the Bier Garden (top deck) and always sat near the plexiglas panels so the wind wouldn't be so bad but we were able to still have a good view. DCT61 Posted April 28, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 28, 2004 I think the wind problem depends on what part of the world you are sailing. I was on the DAWN on its Western Caribbean itinerary, and noticed little to NO wind at all. The balcony was huge...about the size of the main part of the room (about 12x20). Because the divider walls from the adjacent suites slope downward to follow the lines of the front of the ship, there is a wide panoramic view. Id sail in this suite catagory again in a minute, if only NCL would put either the DAWN or the STAR back in Miami. INFINITY: 6/6/
