St Marteen traffic updates??

Has anyone been to or heard of any traffic updates to get to Maho beach in St Marteen? We will be there the 1st week of January and Id like to go check it out but not if it means sitting in a cab for a few hours.

Check out Bernard's Tours, he was awesome! Took us to Orient Beach, somewhere to eat the Iguanas, Maho Beach & provided us with all kinds of history of the Island. There was a huge traffic jam that was reported due to construction, but he had the inside track & took us back the way we came with plenty of time to spare to get back to the ship. Best $$ we spent in a long time.

We were there last week and it took us an hour by taxi, and 45 minutes coming back...we left for Maho at 10:30 and headed back to the ship at 2:30. If you want to pre-arrange taxi you can search on Genesis Taxi, they were reliable and reasonable:)
