RMLincoln Posted December 15, 2011 #1 Share Posted December 15, 2011 We'll have a turnaround day in Ft Lauderdale in April and we are considering the Everglades Airboat tour instead of sitting around in the terminal for a couple of hours. Any experience with this or other suggestions? Thanks, m--

FLAHAM Posted December 17, 2011 #3 Share Posted December 17, 2011 Airboat rides are fun. I take some of my out-of-town visitors on them. Go for it.
RMLincoln Posted December 17, 2011 Author #4 Share Posted December 17, 2011 Thanks for the encouragement. The ship tour says it is aobut a 30 minute ride... In your opinion, would that be enough to make the trip worthwhile, $49pp.
megr1125 Posted December 17, 2011 #5 Share Posted December 17, 2011 personally on turnaround day on b2bs, i like to stay on the ship and watch all the new peeps come aboard....though once, in san juan, i went to the mall...and shopped for about 6 crew members... as for the everglades tour...never took one....but if you've never done it and that's something you think would be fun....go ahead!! enjoy! RMLincoln Posted December 17, 2011 Author #6 Share Posted December 17, 2011 Thanks, I too owuld prefer to stay aboard, as did on a B2B on NCL years ago but I"ve learned (from these boards) that we cna no longer stay aboard and have to go to the terminal so they can "zero" the ship. This means waiting in the loung for some time until all the B2B cruisers are assembled and thn taken through immigration and to the terminal to await being recalled to the ship. A shore excursion sounds like more fun and easier.
FLAHAM Posted December 17, 2011 #7 Share Posted December 17, 2011 Well, cab rides to and from the 'glades would total well over that amount. I think you'll have a good time doing something you are unlikely to encounter anywhere else.
