Cabin Upgrade @ Port?

Not likely.

Every ship I have ever been on, the "No Upgrades Available" sign has been displayed prominently at the Purser's Desk.

Carnival ships typically sail full.

I have found out I was upgraded at the port 12/01 and 3/04. I had GTY bookings and I am sure it was done before but I did not find out until I was checking in w/ the baggage porter. For 12/01 it was from an 8I balcony to an 11 mini-suite. For 3/04 (spring break TOTALLY full ship) it was 4aA inside to 4D or E inside.

I have read how it is possible to check on the Carnival web site. Do a search. At 3 days before embarcation the pax manifest has to be submitted. Therefore, I suspect cabin assignments are pretty much carved in concrete by then.
