lil trip report from our hawaii sapphire trip on 11/26

was a great trip nice ship 1st time on her to hawaii did golden 2x and HAl once was the 15 day one so hard to compare ..golden and sapphire well there a bit easier well we started our 6.5 hr drive to the ship a day early as normal satyed at the san pedro double tree love it as normal my mom satyed at the carson double tree not a bad place nothing around it really but for a park and go ill go there was like 70$ less exp. we took it easy the day before nothing wild .. so we go to the port and was way slow than normal. they got the preffered guests on real fast and only had like 2 angents gettin us reg folk on good for the elietes bad for us golds and such. so we get on what a nice ship and all looks good i mean are there worn spots yes is it brand new no . so i expect some thing but super clean good job i think one of the 1st people i run into is david cole , we had him in feb and before such a nice person ,i think hes funny ,so we did get in for lunch was very good ,great service , everything else was prety normal sail away was nice love the wider deck on 7 walkers can do there thing and relaxers like myself can hang in harmony

we ate most meals in savoy dining room had great servers but we dont do the make a resvertion for the whole trip idea like alot of folks my goodness u couldnt ever get into some of the other ones with out reservations witch we choose not to do . if so we would do set dinning anyway savoy was good , decor was nice . service was good food was good as well . one night after one of the islands i wanted to stay in shorts well mistake whent to buffett was alful i mean our buffets here in mesquite nv casinos are better and that isnt saying much salad was good we schould have gotten pizza mmmmm love it thin crust for this philly boy was nice if u like think crust and i do belive it or not carnival has the good pizza alot more choices . the grill was good ,onion rings where frozen but not bad, only thing in HC i thought was good was the smoked fish in the morning my wife would go to the waffle station was good they had good coffee there was made at the bar smiles

where not bad this trip not rough really had some movement not to bad we where in the aft of the ship i liked it weather i dont mind clouds so didnt bug me i see the sun alot here where we live . hawaii weather we made all ports yeaaaa and no rain and hilo was sunny thats 4 out of 4 for us with hilo was so clear u could see the mountain ,

we have done this trip 4 times now so we rented cars all over ,hilo is always great service , we did enterprise in honolulu not so good, hertz in maui is good right close to the dock like 4 blocks so my mom was with us on this trip and has been to hawaii but never really seen much , so we drove up the big island up the coast was amazing took in the water falls she said i can see why u rave about this island now we also went ti puff city bakery in hilo if u like cream puffs mmm yummy on honolulu we went to hanauma bay one of the resons we picked this trip cause it left on sat soon golden u get to honolulu on tues when its closed so it was very nice not great nice ,we drove to around a lil bit and went back to near the port and shopped since it was during surf chapmions and we had seen them before didnt go north shore like we normally do all the traffic is nuts . we beached it the next port , and drove up to the light house in kauai if u have the national parks pass its free we had ours weeeeeee what a nice seanic point .maui we went to turtle town on our own , ill have to ask my wife what beach and try to get the video link up lots of turtles amazing coral , stayed there most of the day was great .best sunest too im glad we say the sailaway before cause we were delayed when we left

Hi! We were on the same trip. Had an awesome vacation. One of the most relaxing ever. LOVED Hawaii. It was our first time there. Now we know where we want to go back to!!

We had traditional dining in Vivaldi. Our waiter Hector & his assistant (I wish I could remember her name, very good waitress from Ukraine) they remembered our likes & dislikes & were attentive. We had several good meals. Not the best we have EVER had but several were surprisingly good.

Sanctuary was pretty empty for most of cruise. We had a balcony so we did not use Sanctuary.

Loved the sea days...would love to do the cruise again!!

the smaller venue for shows is rough to get into wife and i dont mind splitting up so its easy sometimes to find single seats .. the saving of seats is alful the main show the early show was hard to get into unless u camp out the late was easy.good bands on the ship , they had hula and all the Lei making david cole does the heirloom ones my wife learned it from elua but hes good im told also the staff was good on the ship as far as the Cd staff goes , was very nice .. the bar staff was great . no selling in the dining room was great , i did get a spa treatment was very nice i waited to name my own price so hr massage was 60$ and was a good massage the photo guys at dinner was a lil annyoing but when i looked him in his eyes and said no thank you im eating , he kinda of moved on , ok the downs . i know some of u like the beds , we made do is all ill say i almost took the cushions from the lounge chair tho they where nice and thick un like the rack i slept on ,we like princess and the sapphire . we did hear some complain about missing pool tiles and suck but i look at clean and coners of things see if its cleaned right and was very clean ship well run happy crew it seemed . so any questions just ask please

There is a reason why the Sanctuary is not used much on that trip... Much cooler weather than in the Caribbean! I have done this trip twice on the Golden and will do it again in November, at my husband's request.

 

It is a wonderful cruise and I would like to do it on the Sapphire, but the timing did not work out, but will be taking the Coastal on her in early April. I absolutely love that ship!

Your English is not so bad. Just use paragraphs... Every three sentences, break it down... It just makes it easier to read. Also, if you write all of this in a Word document, you can have Word spell check it, although it doesn't always work right.

 

About the Golden and the Sapphire, I have to admit to a slight preference towards the Sapphire! We all are happy that you had a good time!
