geckocruzer Posted April 10, 2005 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2005 I searched for this answer before I posted, but could not find anything. Does anybody know anything about the alcohol content of the duty free alcohol? We bought two bottles of Tanqueray onboard a few weeks ago...great price for two...but the first time we opened it (yesterday), we noticed it said "export strength" right under the name Tanqueray. Last year we bought one bottle on the Disney cruise and we don't remember it saying that. (Although it may have.) My question boils down to: Does anyone know what "export strength" means?? tef43 Posted April 10, 2005 #2 Share Posted April 10, 2005 The actual ^ (proof) should alos be printed on the label. The bottle I have in the booze pantry is 94.6^
geckocruzer Posted April 10, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted April 10, 2005 Yes, it does have the proof, 94.6, listed on the bottle. However I don't have another bottle with which to compare it. Is yours from a duty free? I know I can look next time I'm in a liquor store, but I just wondered if anyone out there knows. Thanks for the response. tef43 Posted April 10, 2005 #4 Share Posted April 10, 2005 Since Tanqueray is distilled/bottled in the UK, in theory *every* bottle sold on this side of the pond should be "export strength."
