Seabourntraveller Posted December 26, 2011 #1 Share Posted December 26, 2011 Can anyone tell me how big is the Main Pool on Deck 8 on the Quest, Sojorn or Odyssey? I am hoping it's bigger than our current "oversized bathtub" we have on the Legend?:D
markham Posted December 26, 2011 #2 Share Posted December 26, 2011 The pool on 8 deck is maybe 10% or 15% larger in length and width and also very different in layout which influences how it is used. Firstly it is in a much sunnier and quieter location. And there are steps leading into the pool in lieu of a ladder at one end and this unfortunately reduces the area for swimming. It's shallower too. Lastly it's in the center of everything with generous seating surrounding and access which make the area seem even larger. On busy days there are almost as many people using the 2 jacuzzis flanking it. The pool on deck 5 is very small but fine for a dip. There are 2 jacuzzis there too. For some calm I like the forward jacuzzi (on deck 6?) which is less used- same idea as the small ships. Happy cruising!

Here on the Legend you could attempt two laps before having to turn back around!
markham Posted December 26, 2011 #4 Share Posted December 26, 2011 If the Legend is 2 strokes then the larger ships are 3 strokes. So the answer would be No to lap swimming. Best to hit the beach when you are on shore. Happy swimming!

wripro Posted December 26, 2011 #6 Share Posted December 26, 2011 Markham is not only explaining the size but the usefulness of the pool on the larger ships vs. the triplets. The pool is indeed much larger but because of the steps leading in there is not that much more swimming surface. However its location makes it a much more desirable place to hang out. wripro Posted December 27, 2011 #8 Share Posted December 27, 2011 Agreed. They should remove the water from the pools on the triplets and turn them into planters.

I don't think the "Bathtub/Pool" on the Legend could hold the two heatens and the other Family of 5 including half naked Grampa!:D
wripro Posted December 28, 2011 #11 Share Posted December 28, 2011 Maybe if we held them underwater one at a time.
